Sandy Suffoletta has just landed in Normandy! She has come to Normandy as one of 3000 volunteer heroes working at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy. She is living proof of the strong parallels between Normandy and Kentucky. Her visit is motivated by a love of horse, language and challenge!
Sandy resides 3 miles from the Kentucky Horse Park in beautiful horse country. Sandy was recruited by the Kentucky Organizing Committee to lead and manage the Language Services Team of 90 translators during the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010 in Lexington. Sandy speaks fluent Spanish and French. She worked as Language Services Manager for the Equestrian Venue during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and also served as an interpreter in the Main Media Center during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Sandy is active in the horse world in Kentucky having served on the Rolex Eventing Board for 14 years. Sandy and her husband, Dick, are entrepreneurs owning and managing Suff's Furniture and Rugs in Lexington. They have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. Sandy is an example to her family, friends and community and also participates in her annual church mission trip in the Yucatan, Mexico, building a school for underprivileged children and working with medical teams.
Coming all the way from Kentucky, Sandy will be based as a Games volunteer in the media center at the Haras du Pin! She brings with her a strong working knowledge of eventing, excellent bi-lingual written and verbal communication skills and personal friendships with the world’s best eventing riders.
Bienvenue Sandy en France!
