Despite torrential rains, thousands turned out to see local favorite, Mes Soliers Sont Rouges on the second night of the Alltech Music Festival. Nearly 3 inches of rain soaked Caen throughout the day, but by happenstance, sheer luck, or wishful thinking, the clouds cleared shortly after Mes Soliers Sont Rouges took the stage. The umbrellas came down and the spirits went up as they performed their distinctive French, Quebec, Cajun, and Irish inspired folk music. The sounds of the crowd singing along could be heard throughout the Village of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.
Misteur Valaire, on tour from Montreal kicked off the evening. Their electronic sounds welcomed concert goers in the driving rain. As the rain blew on stage, keyboards were covered up but the show went on. The boys from Montreal have been together since they were 6 said they felt they had to give the crowd everything they had for braving the elements. The general consensus among the crowd was “wow.”
