My favorite farmer—or farmers, to be more accurate—are the Reding family. The Reding family owns and operate as Homestead Family Farms.
Homestead Family Farms is a family-owned and operated grain farm located in central Kentucky, right in the heart of Bourbon Country. While we are a growing farm operation, family and community remain the roots of our business. Farming is our passion and has been in our family for six generations.
The biggest inspiration by far is Aaron Reding, who has still not given up his love of farming despite his battle with ALS. Aaron, a father and devoted husband, continues to work with his family to grow their farms while staying true to their mission and family values.
When the family isn't farming (which is few and far between), the family advocates on behalf of all of those affected by ALS. They are supportive emotionally, spiritually and physically to the ALS community.
The Reding family is an inspiration to those around them and a promising hope for our future!
Aaron is competing in Alltech’s Favorite Farmer contest. The photo with the most likes on our Facebook page will win a trip to ONE: The Alltech Ideas Conference in Lexington, Kentucky. There, the winner will have the opportunity to meet farmers and other agriculture leaders from around the world.
